How bypass filtration works
Your machine's standard filter is built to protect the pump, not to clean the oil. Triple R works alongside it and does the cleaning.
Why the standard filter is not enough
A full-flow filter has to pass all the oil at full pressure, so its media must stay open. Fine particles, water and oxidation products pass straight through. They are what wear components and age the oil.
Four steps, running all the time
A small stream is taken
A fraction of the oil is drawn from the circuit while the machine runs.
It passes slowly through a deep element
Low flow and a deep filter element let the media hold fine particles, water and sludge.
Clean oil returns
The cleaned oil goes back into the system, and the whole volume is treated over and over.
The element is changed at service
Only the element is replaced. The oil stays in the machine and keeps working.
Four contaminants, one filter element
Fine particles
Wear metals and dust down to 2 microns, before they cut bearings, pumps and seals.
Water
Absorbed by the element, which stops corrosion and additive breakdown.
Sludge and varnish
Oxidation products that block valves and coolers are held in the element.
Soot
Removed from engine oil, so it keeps its viscosity between changes.
The result you can measure
Triple R filter elements reach a cleanliness level of NAS 6 – ISO 16/14/12 or better, as shown by oil analysis. Each installation can be checked with an oil sample before and after.
What it means for the owner
Longer oil life
Oil that stays clean can stay in service longer, so less oil is bought and less is thrown away.
Less wear
Bearings, pumps, valves and injectors last longer in clean oil.
Fewer breakdowns
Most hydraulic and engine failures start with contaminated oil.
Lower running costs
Fewer oil changes, fewer spare parts and less downtime.
Tell us what you are running
A machine type and the oil you use is enough to start. We will tell you which system fits, and whether bypass filtration is worth it for your application.
